Regeneration
Our schemes improve local access to a wider range of health services within the community and also serve as a powerful catalyst for regeneration.
Creating healthier, happier communities
Regeneration is a primary goal for Renova. That's why we're involved in so many projects that will make a significant difference to local communities. It's also the reason why our community consultation is always approached with conviction. We really do care about local people's needs and, wherever possible, we get the local population involved in shaping their health services. We work closely with our public sector partners, investing a considerable amount of time and effort in public consultation.
Renova schemes maximise value in a wider sense - they are designed to act as a catalyst for local regeneration. By broadening the range of services and activities available to the community, other organisations are motivated to initiate further regeneration in the area.
Regeneration in practice
Rosemary Hawley, Chair of Knowsley Primary Care Trust, said:
"Knowsley had a dire need for new health care facilities as nearly all the surgeries in the borough were completely substandard. Tower Hill was the first health centre that we took on and, working closely with Renova, we relocated the surgery to a more central setting. Joining up with local schools and sports facilities, we completely transformed the services available to the community."
"Since completing Tower Hill we have moved on to regenerate further health care facilities in the borough. We are learning as we go along and the quality of the projects improve each time. By involving the local community and holding public consultations throughout the planning stages, we are able to adapt to and incorporate the needs of the communities."
"We believe Knowsley as a borough had more of a need for regeneration than any other in the country and, through working with Renova, we have had statistically one of the strongest success rates in the country, when compared to regeneration in neighbouring boroughs."
"We have had great feedback from the public."

Ian Davies, Senior Executive Director, for Knowsley PCT comments:
"As a senior executive for the PCT I have built a direct relationship with Renova over the years. Halewood is the most recent project that we are working on and will be a prime example of how a neglected community can be transformed. This is a real shot in the arm for the Halewood community, eventually the whole town centre will be flattened and the new heart of the community will be formed, to include all the necessary local amenities from library to post office."
